It is always such a joy to see one of our Paris weddings featured! This week, Offbeat Bride published our fantastic Paris team’s vow renewal. This intimate family-centered vow renewal made my heart burst with joy.
The Couple
This was the vow renewal dream come true for Mehek and Lokesh who, seven years earlier, had a very traditional Indian wedding. Even more, they said they felt like they were living their own Bollywood dream by renewing their vows in Paris. They were simply a delight, and telling their love story was simple because their love is clearly so great.
Why A Family Vow Renewal?
Their little son always wondered why he was not present at the wedding. So for their vow renewal, I wrote a special candy jar ceremony for the whole family. Building a candy jar with three flavors, the focus of the ritual was on the sweetness of life. By bringing their own unique “flavor” or gift to the family, each adds to the “completeness” of the family. Their love story is also pretty sweet: they had an arranged marriage with a fairy tale ending of true love.
The Details
The details of this day were fun and modern with a fair amount of sparkle. The bride is a huge fan of bling, so her bouquet was adorned with silver beads. Pink and black accents added the perfect pop of color to their handmade soap favors, and their petite cake. They ate their pretty little cake and sipped champagne under the Eiffel Tower after their ceremony. All in all, it was simply the perfect family moment for an incredibly special couple, complete with details that reflected their fun and shining personalities.
